Parkview Apartments

Ecumenical Association for Housing (EAH) is a 29-year old nonprofit created to develop, manage, and advocate for affordable housing. Through the completed development of 2,300 affordable housing units and 2,600 units currently under construction or in planning, EAH has fostered broad-based community support and received three national awards from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for property management.

Parkview Apartments is one of their great successes. This award-winning development was built on the site of a former Sears store which was redeveloped by EAH and other partners with a combination of commercial and residential uses. The site now holds the 140 unit Parkview Senior complex and the 90 unit Parkview Family complex. Other uses on site include a new Safeway store, a public park and 62 condominiums. Parkview Senior received a Builder’s Choice Design and Planning Award, and was a runner up for the Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference Gold Nugget award. The Parkview complexes are close to public transportation and include computer centers, landscaped courtyards, and individual balconies, many of which offer beautiful views of the hills around San Jose.
