Redwood City Center Plaza

Mid-Peninsula Housing Coalition is a non-profit affordable housing developer on the Peninsula, an area that has some of the highest home prices and apartment rents in the country. Since its founding nearly thirty years ago, MPHC has developed 4,000 units of affordable housing. The majority of MPHC’s developments are infill projects in urban or suburban neighborhoods and often require the elimination of abandoned or deteriorating buildings, or brownfield remediation. MPHC has also worked in rural areas, including housing developments for farmworker families.

City Center Plaza in Redwood City is located on the site of a former parking lot and gas station. Today the project is comprised of 81 units of affordable housing located over retail shops, restaurants, community college classrooms, an on-site childcare center, a computer education lab, and secure parking. A walkway links City Center Plaza to the new City Hall and public library, which are directly adjacent to the site.
