San Fernando Apartments

Forest City Development is the local branch of parent company Forest City Enterprises, Inc. Founded more than 80 years ago and headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Forest City is considered an innovative developer, best known for its retail and urban centers. Its management team has extensive experience with and knowledge of the public process and has built strong public/private partnerships, creating critical links that enable successful projects. A diverse company, Forest City is active in both the purely residential as well as the mixed-use commercial areas.

A recent addition to their portfolio is the 323-unit 101 San Fernando apartment community located in San Jose. This development is an important component of the revitalization effort east of Market Street, which includes the Joint Library, the Fourth & San Fernando Street Parking Facility, and a new City Hall. The building will enhance the neighborhood with its sophisticated urban design combining apartments, business/retail space, and parking. Twenty percent (20%) or approximately 63 units are set aside for affordable housing. With the addition of “101,” Forest City has approximately 1,000 units in the San Jose market, complementing the Commercial Group’s 571,000 square feet of office space in Silicon Valley.
